Why should I purchase Chromebook Assurance (CAP) for my student?
For $20 per year, $10 if your student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, CAP will cover accidental damage up to the cost of one full replacement. CAP covers accidental damage to the Chromebook, the bag and the charger.

Enrollment ends on 9/30 so make sure to purchase this in ParentVUE or send cash/check to the main office before then!

Meet Mr. Folkers!

Graduated from: UNL

First job: Mowing lawns when I was a grade-schooler

What made you want to be a teacher/ work in a school? After I retired from the Army I had a lot of time to think about what came next, and teaching was the only thing that made sense. I love the idea of continuing a life of service by helping to educate the next generation.

What fictional world or TV show universe would you want to live in? Easy. Star Wars.

What is the first thing you would purchase if you won a million dollars? I would fill in the gaps in my massive action figure collection.

Is there anything else you would like to share? I student taught at Irving last year and immediately fell in love with the staff, and more importantly, the students. When I found out there was a job opening at Irving this year, no other school in Lincoln stood a chance.

We ♥️ Mr. Robb and are so lucky to have him here at Irving!

We’re excited to kick off a new school year with our first Golden Apple Award winner of 2026-27… and he’s right here in Lincoln! 🍎

Congratulations to Mr. Mike Robb, longtime vocal music teacher at Irving Middle School and our August Golden Apple recipient. He’s earned almost every teaching honor out there, but this is his very first Golden Apple — long overdue, and so well deserved.

Irving Middle School's One Book One Family club brings students in grades 6-8 together with a family member to read and discuss a shared book each month. These evenings build meaningful connections between students, parents, and school. Funding covers books and meals for the group.

Mornings are busy! Save yourself a phone call by using ParentVUE to report full-day absences. You can create these ahead of time and add notes for more explanation or details as needed. The attendance office will view and process the information you enter and your notes will be saved in the attendance documentation for the day.
