More than 200 students, faculty, and community members joined the Nebraska Ambassadors Forum to explore global leadership and cooperation amid today’s international dynamics.

Hosted in partnership with and the American Academy of Diplomacy, the event also connected visiting diplomats with students from Nebraska’s Peace Corps Prep, University Honors, and Yeutter Institute programs.

“Events like this highlight Nebraska’s ongoing commitment to connecting our students and campus community with global perspectives and offering opportunities to understand the critical role that American diplomacy plays in shaping the world today,” said Maegan Stevens-Liska, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs.

“I’ve grown as a scientist, a communicator, and a strategist.” Dr. Deepa Choudhry, Ph.D. Chemistry '25, University of Nebraska–Lincoln

Dr. Deepa Choudhry’s path from doctoral research to her current role at NUtech Ventures reflects Nebraska's commitment to innovation, mentorship, and global leadership.

After completing her Ph.D., she joined NUtech— Nebraska's technology commercialization affiliate—where she now helps move university discoveries into real-world applications.

She also served as President of the Indian Students Association at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, leading cultural programming and earning campus-wide recognition for her leadership.

Her story is one example of how Nebraska empowers international students to lead, grow, and innovate.
