At our final regular season tournament of the year, we had a great time and had two competitors break to the finals house! With a 4th place finish overall, Kristie is heading to nationals!

Congratulations to our Links who gave up their spring break to compete at State Debate!

Our small but mighty entry had a great showing, with everyone winning some rounds! Kristie was one rank away from advancing to congress finals, Silvia and Marisol finishing as quarterfinalists in public forum (in their novice year!), and even our assistant coach Ben walked away with a coaching award!

Congratulations to our Links who competed at the Millard West Wildcat Debate Tournament today! Despite bringing a small squad, we had a great showing! The teams of Silvia & Karen and Goodness & Tatum both finished as quarterfinalists while London & Marisol were only one win away from advancing to elimination rounds in novice public forum. Additionally, in his first ever go in congressional debate, Mikil finished 5th! Another Lincoln High job well done!

Congratulations to all of the LHS debaters who came out to the Millard South tournament tonight. We had a lot of individual successes, but more importantly, we had our biggest entry since 2019! So, so proud of our Links tonight.

Aaaaaaaand we're back! LHS had our first tournament of the season and had a great showing. With a team of almost entirely novices, we placed 5th overall, with semifinalists in novice and varsity PF, a fifth place speaker in novice LD, and a champion in varsity congress! Way to go links!

We're on our way home from Norfolk after a great day. In policy, Tristian and Hassan were runners up. In novice pf Clara/ Kristie and Carmen/ Lilly were co-champions and took the top four speakers. In varsity PF, Evan/Amir were semifinalists, and Mikil/Kevin were runners up. Additionally Kevin was third place speaker and Mikil was first. In LD, Adi was champion and 2nd speaker! Way to go Links!

(We forgot to take a picture, though.)

Yesterday, we competed at the LSW Silver Talon and had a heck of a day!
-In Congress, Alaa placed 4th in her house.
-In Policy, Hassan and Esme were co-champions, and Ian was the top speaker.
-In novice LD, Tiegan finished as an octofinalist, and 5th place speaker.
-In Varsity LD, Audrey was closed out in octofinals, Adi finished as a quarterfinalist and 5th place speaker, and Isza as a semifinalist.
-In novice PF Clara and Kristie were one win away from advancing to outrounds, Ashley and Eliza were closed out in quarterfinals by Lilly and Carmen, who won out as event champions! Additionally, Carmen was 6th place speaker and Lilly was 4th!
-In varsity PF, Luke and Madeline went undefeated in both prelims and outrounds, while Mikil and Kevin climbed the opposite side of the bracket. Ultimately, Lincoln High closed out PF finals, and earned two gold TOC bids, and had the top three speakers!

Overall, definitively, another Lincoln High job well done!

We just wrapped up our first tournament of the season, and are already looking forward to next weekend! Our first year debaters had a great time at the Omaha Marian Novice Tournament. In Lincoln Douglas, Tiegan finished with a winning record and was 10th speaker overall. In Policy, Jama and Griffin placed 4th, and Jama was 6th place speaker. In Public Forum, Alex and Eliza placed 8th overall, Clara and Kristie placed 5th, and Ashley and Ezra were the tournament runner ups! Additionally, Ashley finished as 10th place speaker, Ezra 9th, and Alex 7th.

Finally, we want to thank all of our varsity members who came out to judge and support their teammates today, and all of our debaters for exhibiting excellence, tradition, unity, and diversity in everything they do. Go Links!
