Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸
Today we pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.
For generations, music has been part of Memorial Day observances—community bands, orchestras, and local musicians gathering to play in ceremonies and bring people together in reflection and gratitude. Many of these traditions grew in the late 1800s as towns marked what was then called Decoration Day.
As a reminder, the academy is closed as we observe the holiday and take a short break to begin the summer season.
Wishing your family a meaningful and restful day.
Celebrate the start of summer with a well-earned break. ☀️🎻
The academy will be closed May 23–29 as we head into Memorial Day weekend and the first full week of summer vacation.
After a busy spring season, this is a great time to slow down a bit, enjoy the sunshine, and spend time together with family.
If you can, keep your instrument nearby, just a few minutes of playing here and there helps keep everything feeling fresh.
We’ll see you soon, refreshed and ready for a great summer of music-making!

You don’t have to be musical to raise a musical kid. 🎻
You don’t need to read music.
You don’t need to know how to tune an instrument.
You don’t even need to know if it sounds “right.”
What matters most is something much simpler:
Showing up.
Helping them build a routine.
Encouraging them on the hard days.
That’s it.
Some of the most successful students we see have parents who will tell you, “I have no idea what’s going on… but we practice anyway.”
And that’s more than enough.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to support your child in music, you're already on the right path.

Practice doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
Some days it’s smooth.
Some days it’s squeaky.
Some days it’s just showing up for 10 minutes, and that still counts.
And some days it's just fun.
Every practice builds something important! 🎻
Academy Closed: April 20–26
A quick reminder, our Spring Recital is this Sunday, April 19, 1 PM, 3 PM and 7 PM at Saint Paul United Methodist Church. We can’t wait to celebrate all the hard work our students have put in.
After a full and exciting recital week, the studio will be closed for a short break.
This is a great time to recharge, enjoy the weather, and spend time doing things you love.
If you can, keep your instrument nearby, just a few minutes of playing here and there helps keep everything fresh. But rest matters too.
We’ll see you soon, ready for the next stretch of music-making.
