The cards and counters... “Odd and Even”.
This little guy is able to visually see what makes a number odd and what makes a number even. When a numeral has a counter that stands alone without a partner, it’s odd. If the last counter has a friend, it’s even.
Just another material Dr. Montessori developed to concretely teach such an abstract concept.

* Gathering quantities and matching them to numerals. This child loves to count by 10's! Once he gathered quantities to 90, He wanted to know what happened to 100. I was able to get a hundred square and show him that 10 10s makes 100!! The Golden bead material is my all time favorite. More to come!!
I love how the Montessori method of teaching allows children to be challenged no matter what level they're at.
