Educare Lincoln is excited to announce our new partnership with the Nebraska Diaper Bank!

Last week, our Family & Community Engagement Supervisor and Program Director had the opportunity to attend the Nebraska Diaper Bank’s Annual Partner Meeting and tour their warehouse, where more than 320,000 diapers are packaged for distribution each month. This week, we received our very first diaper delivery! Our Family Engagement Team, ERSEA Coordinator, and Program Director distributed diapers to classrooms so they could be sent home with families.

Through this partnership, every family in our Early Head Start program will receive diapers each month to help support their children at home. We know that strong families thrive when they have the resources and support they need. This partnership means one less thing for families to worry about. We are so grateful to the Nebraska Diaper Bank for helping us support the children and families we serve!

A little staff appreciation delivery today! ❤️

Our Operations and Workforce Coordinators made their way to each classroom with snacks and drinks as a small way to say THANK YOU to our amazing team. We’re grateful for the people who show up each day for our children, families, and each other. We appreciate you! 😊

Head Start was created to ensure that children, regardless of their family’s income, have access to consistent, high-quality early learning experiences, from one-on-one teacher interactions to additional supports like dental care and vision screenings. Replacing national standards with a patchwork of state and local ones could create a system in which the quality of a child’s experience depends on where they live.

As federal officials consider changes to Head Start that could reduce these standards, we encourage Head Start supporters, families, providers and community partners to review the proposal and submit a public comment in opposition to the proposed changes prior to the October 6 public comment deadline.

Nebraska community members shared details about Child Care Can, a statewide, multi-year campaign focused on strengthening the state through public investment in affordable and quality child care.
