Kindness starts at LCHS ❤️💚

Today kicked off our 2026-2027 Kindness Days at LCHS, sponsored by the LCHS Kindness Club!

Our teachers and staff are challenged to wear their Kindness shirts, complete intentional acts of kindness, and find ways to make someone else’s day a little better.

We love seeing our staff lead by example and make kindness an intentional part of our school culture. Thank you, Kindness Club!

On Friday evening, Lincoln Community High School officially celebrated the next chapter in the history of Handlin Field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication of our new synthetic turf field ❤💚

We were honored to welcome Bill Handlin and Dan Handlin, grandsons of W.C. Handlin, as special guests for the ceremony. Named for former Lincoln High School teacher, coach, principal, and educational leader W.C. Handlin, the field stands as a lasting tribute to his impact on our school and community. We sincerely appreciate Bill and Dan for sharing their family's story and offering thoughtful remarks to our students, athletes, and community.

For decades, Handlin Field has brought together students, athletes, performers, families, and fans while serving as one of the most recognizable gathering places on our campus. With the completion of the turf renovation and track project, we are proud to continue that tradition in a facility designed to serve future generations of Railsplitters!

School Portrait day will be held on August 20, 2026. Afterwards, you’ll be able to view your images, order packages, and select your image for your yearbook (please remember to do so before it’s selected for you); all orders will be delivered to your home.

The 2026-2027 school year is officially underway! ❤💚

LCHS staff kicked off the new school year with a keynote presentation from nationally recognized educator, author, and speaker Weston Kieschnick .

We were also excited to welcome educators from Lincoln Elementary School District #27 as we came together for a day of learning and professional growth.

Weston challenged educators to think about student engagement and the important role teachers play in creating meaningful learning experiences. His message provided a great opportunity for reflection as we prepare to welcome students back to our classrooms.

We appreciate Weston for helping us start the year on a positive note and look forward to an outstanding school year at LCHS!
