🛠️ Calling All Nest Friends & Families! 🌿

We're so excited to be adding a Workbench & Heavy Work Area to our outdoor classroom at Robin's Nest Child Care & Preschool!

Heavy work activities help children build strength, coordination, focus, problem-solving skills, and confidence through hands-on play. We're hoping to create a space where our little builders, engineers, and creators can safely explore using real-world materials.

Before we buy new, we thought we'd check with our amazing community! Do you have any items collecting dust in your garage, basement, or shed that you no longer need? We'd love to give them a second life in our outdoor classroom!

Some items we're looking for include:
🔨 Child-sized or old workbench
🪵 Scrap pieces of untreated wood
🔩 Large nuts, bolts & washers
🔧 Old hand tools (without sharp edges)🧰 Toolboxes
🪣 Buckets
🚜 Small wheelbarrow
🛞 Old tires
🪨 Medium to large rocks
🪵 Tree cookies (wood slices)
🪵 Short logs or tree stumps
📦 Wooden crates
🧱 Bricks or pavers
🧵 Rope
🪝 PVC pipe and connectors
🚧 Traffic cones
🚚 Toy dump trucks or construction vehicles
🪣 Five-gallon buckets with lids
🧲 Metal muffin tins or magnetic trays for sorting hardware

✨ Holiday Party Magic at The Nest! ✨

We had such an awesome time at our annual Holiday Party! 🎄❤️
We shared a yummy breakfast together, the girls got sparkling tinsel in their hair, and we opened gifts that brought so many smiles.

From a fun photo shoot 📸 to dress-up time 👗, new toys to explore 🎁, painting, singing, and dancing — the morning was full of joy, laughter, and Christmas sparkle. ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration possible. We are so grateful for all our Nest families.

We found this post very fitting for today, our first day of preschool for the 2025-2026 school year!

We have so many new students this fall and we know change is scary! Looking forward to a great year ahead!

The first week of daycare can be tough for children, parents, and even teachers. There are so many emotions swirling around: fear, excitement, worry, and hope. But here is the good news: with a little patience and a consistent routine, it will get easier.

Parents, one way to help is by writing a note to your child’s teacher. Share a list of their likes, dislikes, favorite songs, or anything that brings them comfort. These small details can make a big difference during the transition.

Remember, your child is stepping into a whole new world with unfamiliar faces and surroundings. It is a lot to take in, and they need time to adjust. But trust the process, stay positive, and know that with love and support, it will get better.
