Today, We Celebrate Our Teachers. ❤️

On World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate the wonderful educators who make learning feel like discovery.

Thank you for the patience, encouragement, creativity, hugs, laughter and countless little moments that help our children learn and grow each day.

To our teachers at Lincoln School for Children — thank you for making a difference in so many little lives.

☔️A rainy weekend doesn’t have to mean a quiet weekend!

Build a blanket fort. Create an indoor obstacle course. Pull out the crayons and make something wonderfully messy. Have a dance party. Curl up together with a
favorite book.

For young children, some of the very best play happens when they’re given a little time, a few simple materials—and plenty of room for their imaginations to take over.

Wishing all of our Lincoln School for Children families a cozy, playful weekend!

A new school year brings new teachers, new friends, new routines—and lots of exciting discoveries!
For little learners, even happy changes can take some getting used to. A few simple things can help make the transition easier:

🍎 Talk positively about school. Share the fun things they can look forward to—playing, creating, learning and making new friends.

⏰ Get back into a routine. Consistent bedtimes and unrushed mornings can make school days feel more predictable.

🎒 Practice little bits of independence. Let your child practice putting on their backpack, hanging up a coat or getting ready to leave the house.

❤️ Create a simple goodbye routine. A special hug, kiss or phrase each morning can provide reassurance—and keeping the goodbye short and consistent helps children know what to expect.

😊 Give it time. Every child adjusts differently. Some run right in on day one; others need a little more time to feel comfortable and confident.

At Lincoln School for Children, we're looking forward to another year of learning, growing, playing and making wonderful memories together.

Here’s to a happy new school year! 🍎✏️

Summer Is Winding Down… Is Your Child Ready for the School-Year Routine? 🍎

The last weeks of summer are meant to be enjoyed—but they’re also a wonderful time to begin easing children back into a familiar routine.

A few small changes now can make that first week of school feel a little easier:
☀️ Gradually return to regular bedtime and wake-up times.
📚 Set aside a little quiet time each day for reading or creative activities.
🎒 Let children help choose and organize their school supplies.
🥪 Begin returning meals and snacks to a more predictable schedule.
💬 Talk about the school year with enthusiasm—and give children a chance to share anything they may be wondering or worrying about.

There’s no need to change everything overnight. A little preparation, paired with plenty of time to enjoy these final summer days, can help children approach the new school year feeling comfortable, confident and ready for what’s ahead.

🌞`Here’s to a happy end of summer—and an exciting new beginning!

LITTLE MOMENTS. BIG LEARNING.🖍

To a child, it may simply feel like play. But behind every little moment of discovery, important learning is taking place.

Choosing colors, arranging pieces, building, drawing and creating can help young children develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, concentration, creativity and confidence.

And some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are given the freedom to explore, experiment and discover for themselves.

At Lincoln School for Children, we believe everyday experiences can become wonderful opportunities to learn, grow and discover.

Because when you're little, even the smallest moments can lead to big learning.

🎻 Learning comes alive when children experience it firsthand.

From the first note to the final bow, our students were captivated by a live string ensemble, discovering the beauty of music through listening, observing,
and asking questions.

Experiences like these help children develop curiosity, appreciation for the arts, focused listening skills, and an understanding that learning extends far beyond
the classroom.

At Lincoln School for Children, every day brings new opportunities to explore, imagine, and grow—because the most meaningful lessons are often the ones that inspire wonder.

💚 Where learning and joy go hand in hand.

A heartfelt thank you to the talented musicians for sharing the joy of live music
with our students! 🎶

Try This Instead of "What Did You Do Today?"

Sometimes a different question can open the door to a wonderful conversation.

Try asking:
🍎 What made you smile today?
🍎 Who did you play with today?
🍎 What was something new you learned?
🍎 Did you help someone today?
🍎 What was your favorite part of the day?

These simple questions encourage children to reflect, share their experiences, and build confidence in their communication skills.

The best conversations often begin with a little curiosity.

📚Many parents picture learning as circle time, books, and structured activities.
But some of the most important learning happens during ordinary moments.
Listening to a story encourages focus and comprehension.

Raising a hand builds confidence. Sharing ideas with classmates develops communication skills. Even simple group activities help children learn patience, cooperation, and respect for others.

For young children, everyday experiences often become the foundation for
lifelong learning.

What is something your child learned that surprised you?
