One of our students, Joey DiPentino, has spearheaded a chess club at MA that kicked off today. We had over 20 students participate in the inaugural session, and they are hoping to form a team to compete against other schools in the region. There are also faculty members throughout the building that have volunteered to teach new players the ropes so they can join in the fun, too!

Last Thursday, 16 of our French students visited the Mill Park Pétanque Club in Augusta to learn the traditional French game of pétanque!

After a quick tutorial, students jumped into games where club instructors guided them on technique and game strategy. The instructors were thoroughly impressed by how quickly our students picked up the rules and techniques, and they're already looking forward to hosting us again this spring! 🏆

A big thank you to the wonderful volunteers at the Mill Park Pétanque Club and to Mrs. Rideout for helping Mrs. Turner organize such a fun, hands-on learning experience for our students.

In Mrs. Thurlow-Shain’s Physical Management class students attempted the 100 bar squat challenge. Students use a 45 pound bar and squat until their butt hits the weight bench and they need to do this as many times as possible. These four students successfully completed the task with John Vardaros setting a new record and completing it in 1:36! Great job John, Max, Kenai and Vanessa!

Jacoby Savage also competed and is a member of the team but was absent from the photo.
