Congratulations to our newest Scott Star Award winner, our librarian, Mrs. Westphalen! This year is Mrs. Westphalen’s 6th year teaching at Scott Middle School. She has been in education for 11 years. Mrs. Westphalen attended St. John the Baptist Middle School in Plattsmouth, NE. In her spare time she loves spending time with her daughter and husband. They like to read, play outside, and do puzzles.

These 6A students were recognized today for being Super Star Students: Nyla, Jay, Harnoor, Charlie, Abby, Stella, Brooks, Dimah, April, Olivia, and Allie (not pictured). Congratulations! Your teachers are so proud of your outstanding behavior and hard work!

Congratulations to our newest Scott Star Award winner, Mr. Crispin! He has taught at Scott Middle School for 2 years. Mr. Crispin attended Otte Middle School in Blair, NE. In his spare time he enjoys reading, walking, spending time with family and friends, and performing music.

Reminder that Open house is Wednesday for 6th grade and Thursday for 7th and 8th grades from 4-6pm.

The Scott Middle School PTO is reaching out to you to let you know what we do for your students and the Scott staff. Our mission is to support students and staff through direct classroom needs, scholarships, incentives, charitable giving, building maintenance, after school activities, guest speakers, educational field trips, and school-wide on-premises events. We do so through a series of fundraisers, corporate and private donations, and a network of parent volunteers.

PTBoard - Scott Middle School PTO

Hello! I am Annie Leaf, and I am so excited to be your Instructional Coordinator. I am originally from Arlington, Nebraska (a little town near Fremont). I have degrees from UNK in Elementary Education and Middle School math and English), Doane in Curriculum and Instruction, and UNL in Educational Administration.

I have taught a variety of subjects including 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades at Cavett and Rousseau Elementary Schools, 7th grade reading at Dawes Middle School, 7th and 8th grade English at Barr Junior High in Grand Island, and 7th-10th grade math at Palmyra Junior/Senior High School. I have also served as an Instructional Technology Coach and a Professional Learning Coach for Lincoln Public Schools at Rousseau, Roper, Lakeview, and Pound.

My husband, Jeff, works for the Lincoln Fire Department and is a Captain on Engine 7. We have two daughters. Kerstin is a senior at UNMC-Kearney where she is studying to be a nurse. Our oldest, McKinsey, is married and lives in Colorado Springs. She works on the display team for the new Scheel's store in Colorado Springs. She is also working on designing and sewing a formal wear collection for Omaha Fashion week in August. Her husband, Patrick, is in the Air Force and is stationed at Schriever Air Force Base.

Jeff and I have a rescue dog named Charlie, and we enjoy taking him on trips in our camper. In my spare time, I like to go on long walks while listening to audio books. I also enjoy crafting, baking, and spending time outdoors. Since the pandemic, we also host a weekly "Driveway Bingo" game for our neighbors.

I'm so excited to be a part of the Scott family and am looking forward to a great school year together!
