Today, now 20 years later, Detachment 465 remembers the dedication, commitment, and strength of those who responded to the attacks on our great Nation. We will also never forget the 2,977 souls lost on this tragic day.

With commissioning 8 days away, we are going to spotlight our seniors who will be commissioning!

Congratulations to Cadet Justin Humphrey for being recognized by the Society of American Military Engineers! This award goes to only twenty engineering cadets around the nation. Cadet Humphrey has proven his hard work and dedication to earning his engineering degree and throughout ROTC! @ University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Today's cadet spotlight goes to C/3C Markus Case. C/Case is a Sophomore, mechanical engineering major from Elkorn, NE.

-Why did you join AFROTC?
"I joined to serve my country, fly planes, and explore the possibilities the Air Force will give me."

-What is your desired job once you go active duty?
"Pilot, but not sure whether to be a fighter or transport pilot."

-What's your favorite hobby?
"I enjoy going to the campus rec to workout and get a good lift in." @ Lincoln, Nebraska

We kicked off the new semester with an awesome, but very cold, Leadership Lab! Wing Commander C/Ostrander gave a welcome back briefing and talked about his expectations for the cadet wing this semester, the AS200s worked on their marching out in front of Memorial Stadium, and much more went on during lab! We are all looking forward to a great semester! @ University of Nebraska-Lincoln

As school begins this week, cadets are back from their winter break and getting back into the routine. Many were able to travel to both warm and cold destinations while others stayed home and relaxed. Here are a few pictures of what our cadets did over break! @ Unl Afrotc Det 465

Congratulations to Trey Alexander for commissioning as a Second Lieutenant this past December. He will be heading down to Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas for flight training. Good luck! @ Nebraska State Capitol

“All gave some... some gave all”. The Navy and Air Force ROTC joined together to honor the Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action. Our hearts reach out to those who have not returned and their families.

Today, Detachment 465 celebrated the United States Air Force’s 72nd birthday with some post-PT birthday cake! The Navy and Army also joined in on the sweet celebration:)
