This week, we are learning about caterpillars and butterflies. Our caterpillars are already in their cocoons, waiting to come out as beautiful butterflies. Today we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. We sponge painted caterpillars.for creative art, played caterpillar sensory, life cycle. puzzles, caterpillar sorting, and sequence for our centers.

Today we read Lulu, the Ladybug, and we read a book on the life cycle of a ladybug, for circle time. For our centers, we continued counting ladybugs, ladybug sensory, matching ladybugs, and for creative art, finger painting with red and black colors.

Today we read The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle. We learned the lifecycle of a ladybug, and that they eat aphids, which helps our gardens. We counted ladybugs, played with ladybug sensory and painted red and black circles for a creative art.

Insect dress ups with water play and other outdoor fun games with balls and messy materials. .

Today we did the story of There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly with felts. We felt different textures of bugs and did a light experiment with a flashlight and jars to see the different bugs. We also had different centers with a sensory bins, matching letters, bug put together toys, matching bugs lotto game, and for creative art, we did fly swatter painting outside.

Today we read "The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle, along with singing some songs about flowers and a flower finger play for circle time. For our centers, we matched flowers to flower pot with.Letters, matched shapes, played with flower garden legos, playdough with flower cutters, and other fun garden centers. For creative art, we painted flower gardens with neon paint.
