In May, Mr. Cook's W.I.N. students created projects inspired by our April chapter books Mary Poppins, Wish, and The Forgotten Door. Students reflected on their strengths, memories, dreams, wishes, and the people who matter most through personalized umbrellas, quilt squares, and decorative keys. These projects encouraged creativity, self expression, and meaningful connections to literature while showcasing each student’s unique personality. We are so proud of their thoughtful work!

The third graders at Holmes Elementary had a special visit from local folk band The Wildwoods! Students enjoyed listening to live music and learning about the songwriting process. The Wildwoods even helped the students write a song together as a class, giving them a fun and creative way to practice their writing skills. Thank you to The Wildwoods for sharing your talents and inspiring our young writers and musicians!

Third grade learned about Samuel de Champlain and the fur trade during the Age of Exploration, so Mrs. Pinkman‘s class decided to create mini fur trading posts of their own! The students had so much fun bringing history to life while learning about how trading posts played an important role in early North American history.
