📐 Who loves math? Our middle schoolers do! ❤️➗

At St. John Paul II Classical Catholic School, math is about more than numbers and formulas. It develops reasoning, perseverance, and critical thinking.

Our classical middle school students receive differentiated instruction, working at the level and pace that best supports their growth. Some are ready to accelerate, while others benefit from taking time to master foundational concepts. Every student is encouraged to understand deeply, think critically, and pursue excellence, not simply complete a textbook.

We are especially proud of the students who are excelling in mathematics and attending advanced math instruction at Gabriel Richard Catholic High School, where they can continue to be challenged and reach their full potential.

These students begin their day at GR and join their classmates after class. This is classical education in action: meeting students where they are, challenging them to grow, and placing no ceiling on what they can achieve.

Congratulations to our JV Girls Volleyball Team on an incredible tournament! We are so proud of the way these young ladies came together not only as athletes, but as a team and a community.

Throughout the tournament teamwork, perseverance, humility, encouragement, and joy was on full display. Each game brought opportunities to grow, learn from challenges, support one another, and celebrate each other’s successes.

Most importantly, our girls bonded and grew together, building friendships and learning that true teamwork means putting others before ourselves, encouraging one another, and never giving up.

These are the moments that make athletics about so much more than the scoreboard. We are grateful for the opportunity to watch our girls become stronger athletes, better teammates, and young women who strive to live out truth, beauty, and goodness in all they do.

Our middle school students have already jumped into their first hands-on chemistry experiment of the school year!! They start by exploring the physical properties of water and the fascinating science of surface tension, cohesion, and imbalanced forces!

Through observation, questioning, testing, and discussion, students are using critical thinking skills to understand why water behaves the way it does. This is not simply memorizing facts, but discovering the order and beauty found in God’s creation. ✝️🔬

Our teachers recently spent two days in professional development with Arcadia Education, deepening their understanding of the rich tradition of classical education and how we can continue to bring it to life at St. John Paul II Classical Catholic School.

Together, we explored:

✨ The Transcendentals :Truth, Beauty, and Goodness
📖 The Trivium : Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric
🔭 The Quadrivium :the mathematical arts that lead students toward wonder and order
🎓 Classical pedagogy and the art of teaching the whole person
✝️ How to continue integrating the time-tested classical model into our Catholic mission

Professional development isn't simply about learning something new it's about becoming better teachers so that our students can encounter truth, beauty, and goodness every day in the classroom.
