Hello Carr Community!

We are excited to share the news of a new team member at our school. Mrs. Ames will be serving as a full-time resource teacher this coming school year.

Here is a little note from Mrs. Ames:

Hi Everyone!

My name is Mrs. Ames, and I’m excited to join the Carr team as your new Resource Teacher! This will be my seventh year teaching special education, and I’m thrilled to be returning to the elementary level after spending the past few years in secondary. I am passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive, and accessible learning environment where every student feels valued, empowered, and able to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending as much time outdoors as possible with my family.

I’m looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families at Carr and becoming part of your wonderful school community. I'm sure we will have a great year together!

We have a new staff member we'd like to share with you: Mr. Swick- Mr. Swick will be our new PE and Health Teacher for the 26-27 school year.

Here is a little more about Mr. Swick:

Hello Everyone! I recently completed my student teaching and have spent the past several years coaching basketball, football, and track at both the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. Working with young athletes has reinforced my passion for helping students grow, build confidence, and enjoy being active.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with minors in Sports Coaching and Sports Management, and I've always enjoyed finding creative ways to make learning fun and engaging. My goal is to create a PE environment where every student feels welcome, challenged, and successful, regardless of their skill level. I believe physical education should help students develop teamwork, perseverance, healthy habits, and a lifelong appreciation for being active.

Outside of school, I enjoy coaching, spending time outdoors, grilling, golfing, hanging out with family, and gardening. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, learning from this amazing staff, and becoming a part of the school community. I'm excited for a great school year!

🎉🧡💙 What an incredible way to wrap up another amazing school year! Our End of the Year Picnic was filled with laughter, smiles, and so many special moments as we celebrated together as one school community. ☀️🌭🎈

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful PTA for providing hot dogs and chips for all of our students and helping make this day extra special. We are also so grateful for our amazing volunteers and dedicated staff members who gave their time and energy to ensure today’s celebration was a success. 👏🍎❤️

Days like today remind us how fortunate we are to be part of such a caring and supportive school family. Thank you to everyone who helped make lasting memories for our students. Wishing all of our families a fun, safe, and relaxing summer! ☀️😎🧡💙

We are so proud of all of our students and staff who participated in today’s Rails Rally 5K sponsored by the LPSEF! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉 Your energy, determination, and school spirit were on full display from start to finish.

A special shout-out goes to our incredible staff sponsors, Ms. Lindsey, Mrs. Khalil, and Ms. Massengill, for supporting and encouraging our runners every step of the way! 👏✨

Summer School- Last Call!

Hello Carr families!This is a reminder that LPPS will be offering a summer program for students that will be in grades K-3 in the fall 2026. The program runs July 6th - August 14th Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Students will receive breakfast and lunch provided by our Meet up and Eat up summer program.
