🌱 Welcome to Keppen, Ms. Faith Sabo! 🌱

We are excited to introduce Ms. Faith Sabo, one of Keppen’s new School Social Workers! Ms. Sabo may be new to Keppen, but she is already familiar with Lincoln Park, as she spent last year at Foote Elementary completing her social work internship. Please join us in giving a warm Keppen welcome to Mrs. Brittany Sampier!

Mrs. Sampier is joining the Keppen family as our School Social Worker. We are excited to have her as part of our team and know that her experience, compassion, and commitment to supporting students and families will be a wonderful addition to our school community.

Here are a few words from Mrs. Sampier:

"My name is Brittany, and I am pleased to be joining the Keppen team this year. For the past seven years, I have worked at Beacon, where I have had the opportunity to support students and continue developing both personally and professionally. I also bring experience from the community mental health field, where I served as a Wraparound Facilitator, as well as from the foster care system, where I worked as a Foster Care Caseworker. I look forward to applying these experiences in this new role and collaborating with a dedicated team of educators.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my little one, and value opportunities to spend time outdoors or try new experiences. I am excited to get to know everyone and to be part of such a supportive school community. I look forward to a successful school year filled with collaboration, growth, and meaningful opportunities for our students and staff."

We're thrilled to welcome Mrs. Sampier to the Keppen family! If you see her around the building, please take a moment to introduce yourself and help make her feel at home. We know our students, staff, and families will enjoy getting to know her throughout the school year.

I graduated from Michigan State University with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2025 and am currently working towards my master’s degree at Michigan State. Go Green!

Please join us in giving a warm Keppen welcome to Ms. Julie Turner!

Ms. Turner is joining the Keppen family as one of our Resource Room teachers. We are excited to have her as part of our team and look forward to the knowledge, compassion, and dedication she will bring to our students and school community.

Here are a few words from Ms. Turner:

My name is Julie Turner. I am so excited to join the Keppen family as one of your resource room teachers this upcoming school year. I have been teaching in Lincoln Park Public Schools for over 30 years. I began my teaching career as a general education teacher at Hoover Elementary. But I have worked in all of our elementary buildings either teaching students in general education or in special education over these years. I began my resource room teaching career, working with students in special education, at Keppen; and I am excited to be returning this year.

On a personal note, I like to spend time with my family, particularly with my nieces and nephew. I enjoy gardening, cooking, and keeping up with current events! But I probably enjoy taking walks the most!!

Again, I am really excited to be returning to Keppen Elementary this year while we work together in achieving our students' success! Together, as a team, we can accomplish great things this school year!

Welcome to Keppen, Ms. Turner! We're so happy you're here and look forward to a wonderful school year together.

Keppen’s Field Day was filled with lots of fun and excitement! ☀️🎉

A huge thank you to our PTA for helping keep everyone cool with water and popsicles throughout the day.

Our gym teacher, Ms. Vespa, did a fabulous job organizing and coordinating all of the activities.

Special thanks to the firefighters who stopped by and sprayed the students after a long day in the sun—it was definitely a highlight of the day!

We would also like to thank Mrs. Higgins for coordinating our Field Day t-shirts and making sure every staff member and student received one. Thank you as well to Mrs. King, Keppen’s secretary, for designing this year’s Field Day shirt.

Thank you to all of the staff, volunteers, and supporters who supervised, encouraged, and helped make today such a success. We appreciate everything you do for our students! 💙🧡
