On Friday, April 19th, the Heritage Hills Middle School Lady Patriots took on Perry Central at an away game. With 2 outs, Macy Boop walks, steals 2nd and Kenlee Stephens singles, driving in Boop putting the Patriots on the board first. Trinity Griepenstroh stepped into the circle for the Patriots and Mady Waugh took her position behind the dish. Griepenstroh pitched 5 innings, striking out 7 and walking none. Charlotte Asbury threw 2 innings of relief, striking out 5 and walking 2. Analhi Santillian also added some pop to the lineup. Taylor Griepenstroh and Hannah Baker were patient at the plate collecting 2 walks for the team. The Patriots won 5-1.

Thursday, April 18th, Heritage Hills Middle School Softball Lady Patriots traveled to the southern part of the county to take on the South Spencer Lady Rebels. During the A game, Charlotte Asbury pitched, while Mady Waugh caught. Asbury struck 7 out of 18 batters out. It was definitely a pitchers game, as South Spencer's pitcher struck out 8 of 17 batters faced. Paige Riehle was the highlight of the night offensively as she was the only hit from Heritage Hills. We took the loss 0-2.
The B game had more action at the plate. Starting with a walk drawn by Ella Asbury, followed by a single from Alexis Balbach, then followed up a 2 RBI double by Kenlee Stephens to get Heritage Hills on the board in the first inning. Kenlee Stephens pitched and Macy Boop caught for the B game. Stephens recorded 8 strikeouts on the evening. Lillian Morrison and Ella Asbury were watchful at the plate, both collecting two walks. Macy Boop led the team with four stolen bases. The Patriots walked away with the win 7-4.

Your Heritage Hills Middle School Softball Lady Patriots traveled to Southridge yesterday, Wednesday, April 17th. During the A game, Charlotte Asbury pitched and Madyson Waugh caught. Asbury retired 8 while walking 2. Kenlee Stephens led the team, going 2 for 2 at the plate. Waugh, Davis, Riehle, and Klem all drove in runs. During the second inning, Alexis Balbach, second baseman, turned 2 to Macy Boop, short-stop, who turned a double to first baseman, Lexi Gardner. The Patriots walked away with the win, 6-2. The B game was pitched by Alexis Juelfs and relief from Trinity Griepenstroh with Macy Boop behind the plate. Griepenstroh surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 1, and giving up zero runs. Despite being behind, the Lady Patriots fought back and collected 11 hits during the game. Taylor Griepenstroh leading the hits, going 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Kenlee Stephens and Alexis Balbach each collected 2 hits, as well. Ainsley Quinn tripled on a line drive, driving in a run. The final score, 11 to 8, resulting in a win for the Patriots.

Tuesday Heritage Hills Middle School Softball hosted Forest Park Rangers Jr. High. A team won 18-7. Paige Riehle had 4 RBIs on the night. Analhi Santillan doubled and Madyson Waugh tripled. The Patriots recorded 16 hits during the game. Charlotte Asbury started off in the circle and retired 4 batters in 2 innings. Trinity Griepenstroh closed out the game and Madyson Waugh caught for the entirety. The B team lost to Forest Park 9-7. Kinlee Stephens pitched and Macy Boop caught. Lexi Gardner, Kenlee Stephens, Macy Boop, and Ella Asbury all drove in runs for the Patriots.

Heritage Hills hosted Jasper in tonight's double-header. In game A, the Patriots struggled to bring their bats alive and weren't able to put up the runs needed. Charlotte Asbury opened, Trinity Griepenstroh closed and Mady Waugh was behind the dish. The Patriots lost that game 9-0. In game B, Alexis Juelfs took to the circle and Macy Boop took her place behind the plate. Ella Asbury, Alexis Juelfs and Macy Boop led that game in hits. The Patriots won that game 5-4.

🥎It's that time again! Softball season is upon us. Flyers have been up in the middle school and sent out to the elementary schools. Try-outs for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will take place this week! If you miss today, be sure to come out Wednesday!
