Ms. Kill’s kindergarten class has spent the past couple of weeks learning all about pumpkins! Students explored the life cycle of a pumpkin and discovered what pumpkins need to grow. They visited a pumpkin patch and brought their pumpkins back to the classroom to measure, make observations, and write facts. Students also worked together to create a classroom jack-o’-lantern and counted the seeds inside their pumpkin. Now, they are observing the decomposition of their jack-o’-lantern in hopes of watching a new pumpkin grow! To top it all off, students celebrated Pumpkin Day by sampling a variety of delicious pumpkin foods. What a fun and hands-on way to learn about pumpkins!

This morning, the Heritage K-kids participated in the annual Kiwanis one day event where all of our clubs get together to perform an act of service for our community. We went to the West Ohio Food Bank, and made backpack bags for students in our community. Once they were done, they were given some M&M’s from the West Ohio Food Bank and Miss Luann brought them cookies and drinks to celebrate a job well done. We are blessed to have Miss Luann as our Kiwanis advisor.
