Lima Christian School

At Lima Christian School (LCS), every hour serves one purpose: making disciples of Jesus Christ. It also conducts creative writing and reading sessions.

As Livingston County's only PreK-12 Christian school, LCS proudly serves families throughout Lima, NY and school districts. Founded in 1974, Lima Christian School, also known as LCS, is a ministry of Crossroads Church. The school offers various educational programs for students in kindergarten through grade 12. It emphasizes the spiritual, emotional, social and physical development of students. Lima Christian School provides sessions in Bible study, computer applications, English, math, music and physical education. The school additionally offers psychology, science and social studies classes. The school offers special education services for students with developmental disabilities. It organizes various sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, softball, soccer and skiing. Lima Christian School is located in Lima, N.Y.

A big thank you to Mr. Peter Huber and Mr. Anthony DiVasta from Rochester Institute of Technology for giving our 7th grade students (and Mrs. Christa!) a hands-on lesson in the Toyota Lab. Mr. DiVasta challenged students to build a Minion three different ways: without any directions, with better directions, and with improved materials and tools. Students discovered how manufacturing processes can become faster and more efficient. Mr. Huber then connected this concept to our current science unit, showing how human body systems work together efficiently to keep us alive.

Students finished the day with a campus tour to see all they can study in college at RIT. A few of our students are particularly inspired by Ms. Orzel's Media Arts class this year and have expressed interest in the RIT School of Film & Animation.

Get ready for Fall Homecoming this Saturday at LCS! Join us for an exciting day packed with multiple soccer games, fun class booth activities, and a variety of concessions prepared by the Class of 2027. You can also get in on the action yourself by playing in or cheering on the annual alumni game starting at 2:30 PM. Show your school spirit and catch up with old friends. 💙🤍

So what else were our teachers up to this summer?

🛶 Mr. Z served as a counselor at New Life Island Camp on the Delaware River, where he loved belaying for the rope adventure courses and seeing God work mightily in the lives of the campers.

🎤 Ms. Taylor kicked off her break hiking and whale watching in Maine, experienced powerful moments at the Northeast Worship Camp and finished the season with a trip to visit loved ones in Michigan.

🌲 Mrs. Snyder played local tourist exploring community playgrounds, libraries, and waterfalls before wrapping up the season with an annual family trip to the Adirondacks and The Wild Center.

⚾ Mrs. D took a trip out west to California, where she got to catch a San Francisco Giants vs. Colorado Rockies game and cheer the Giants on to a big win!

🍦 Mrs. Mattison and her family stayed incredibly busy with home renovations, playing numerous sports, working various summer gigs, going to amusement parks, and making plenty of trips to France’s Eats & Treats in Lima.

On this Labor Day, we are especially grateful for the talented teachers and staff who choose to serve students here. These disciple-making educators make such a difference for our families. Our school is what it is because of them.

Mrs. Christa spent her summer enjoying family traditions, including two fantastic getaways.

They kicked off the summer with their annual trip to historic Williamsburg, VA with her husband’s family. Next up was an escape to Rocking Horse Ranch alongside her own parents. Of course, anyone who knows the Christas knows that the summer was also filled with baseball! ⚾️

It has been a summer full of non-stop celebrations for Mrs. Vogt and her family. They celebrated three birthdays and a milestone 20th wedding anniversary!

To celebrate, the family jetted off on an amazing trip to Costa Rica. They spent their days going on beautiful walks through the rainforest and taking a catamaran ride on the Pacific Ocean. They also spotted incredible wildlife every single day, including flying fish, sea turtles, and dolphins.

The new school year begins in just under three weeks, so we are kicking off the countdown with a look at what has been happening around the school this summer. Classrooms are coming together, a few updates are underway, and the new sensory room is nearly ready for its first students. And it was a joy to see so many familiar faces back on campus a few weeks ago for Summer's Best Two Weeks at Church.

Over the next three weeks, watch for posts highlighting what your favorite LCS teachers have been up to this summer.
