The Spring Leadership Summit, hosted by Ohio State Lima, is a workshop designed to engage and empower student leaders to impact their campus. This workshop, planned by Coordinator of Student Programs Amy Livchak is the first time our regional campuses and Columbus campus have met in person since the start of the pandemic. Featured presenter, Manager of Student Life Justin F Courtney, spoke on Emotional Intelligence and the importance of interconnectedness and community to ensure success and fulfillment of purpose.

Gearing up to be the next generation of innovators and engineers, these high school students were able to explore the opportunities that exist in STEM industries today. With insight from engineering professionals and current Ohio State Lima students, these future engineers were able to get a look inside the world of engineering at Engineering Discovery Day. Students were also challenged by the Ohio 4-H STEM & Digital Engagement Innovations' Sphero STEM activity, talked with campus resources about the next steps for enrollment, and took a campus tour.

Special thanks to our panelists today including 50 Strong, City of Lima, General Dynamics, and Nutrien, and Allen County OSU Extension for bringing the Sphero Challenge activity to campus.

As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month, we salute women in science with our annual STEM Steps event, welcoming sophomore and junior girls from local area high schools.

Shana Schnipke-Duley, DDS, practice owner of Columbus Grove Family Dentistry, shared an inspiring message about pursuing a career within the STEM fields while embracing our innate abilities as strengths.

This exciting day continued with hands-on activities in various STEM fields to encourage and stimulate an interest in science, lunch and ended with a student panel discussing the paths they took within the STEM fields as well as other first-year college student questions.
