We Remember.
25 years later, we still remember.
We remember the lives lost. We remember the heartbreak. We remember the destruction. We remember the fear.
But as someone who lived through it, what I remember most are the days that followed.
I remember the way our world seemed to change, yet somehow, everything almost seemed to become more vibrant.
The streets were flooded with red, white, and blue. ❤️💙
People held their loved ones a little closer.
People were praying louder.
And we, as a nation, seemed to be unified in a way that I pray we can one day be again.
As an elementary teacher I am always reminded book written by first graders at Masterson Elementary School in Kennett, Missouri, about the day after the tragic events of September 11th.
On September 11th, horrific events occurred. Yet the children remind us that the world continued the next day.
On each page, they experience the comforts of ordinary routines: their teacher reading books to them, having homework and recess, and knowing that 2 + 2 still equals 4.
It is a simple message, but a powerful one.
Even after bad things happen, tomorrow brings a new day.
And maybe that is what we need to remember most…not to forget the tragedy, but to remember the hope, the kindness, the unity, and the strength that followed.
Never Forget 🇺🇸
And may God continue to bless the USA ❤️❤️💙💙
