Molly came to us nervous. 🧡

She was heading into a dual enrollment welding program for her senior year — and she was anxious about walking in as the only girl who didn't know a thing about welding yet. Her mom brought her in, and the two of them started coming together.

Caden first walked into Spark Forge Labs curious about welding — not sure if it was the right fit, but willing to find out. Over the next nine months, he came back again and again. He tried things, got better, figured out what he was capable of, and didn't stop.

His mom said it perfectly before any of this happened:

Real talk — what's been stopping you from signing up? 👇

We ask because we hear the same things a lot:

"I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough."
"I don't want to look dumb in front of other people."
"I thought it would be too expensive."
"I didn't think it was something people like me do."

All of it is valid. And all of it goes away pretty fast once you're in the shop.

You don't have to be mechanical. You don't have to be strong. You don't have to have done anything like this before. You just have to show up.

That's a wrap!

Summer Intensive is wrapped — but we're open year-round. 🙌

If you missed the Intensive or you just prefer a slower pace, our regular one-on-one sessions run all year long. A single intro session is $90. The monthly program is $330 (plus a $25 metal fee) for four weeks of hands-on instruction tailored completely to you.

Fall is honestly a great time to start something new. Kids are back in school, schedules settle down, and suddenly there's a two-hour window you didn't have in June.

MIG, TIG, or Stick — what's the difference? 🤔

We get this question a lot from new students, so here's the quick version:

MIG welding is the most beginner-friendly. It's fast, forgiving, and great for most home projects and general metalwork.

TIG welding takes more precision but gives you cleaner, more detailed welds. It's what you want for thinner metals and more refined work.

Stick welding is rugged and reliable — great outdoors and in less-than-perfect conditions.

In your first session, Ryan will talk through your goals and help you figure out which process makes the most sense to start with. Most students try more than one over time.
