WHAT:
The Coil Academy is a learning center dedicated to empowering young brown girls through the use of hair education. An intense 4 week course which entails book knowledge, product knowledge and hands on training on how to maintain and style their natural curls.
WHO:
We target young ladies from the ages of 9 to 16 years old.
WHEN:
Each semester includes 4 sessions. We meet each Saturday from 9am to 2pm for 3 weeks. The last class session consists of a hands on final exam and written final exam, with a graduation ceremony to follow!
WHERE:
Metro Atlanta Area (Gwinnett County)

The Coil Academy is the perfect place for young African American girls who are looking for a course that will teach them about their natural hair. We provide an interactive 3 week course that teaches our students how to maintain, style and become comfortable with their natural coils!
They will be able to practice hands on styling techniques, receive tips on maintaining healthy hair and get advice from professional stylists. Our program will also help you make decisions regarding your personal style so you can feel confident in yourself no matter what situation arises! Our course includes book knowledge about what their hair is capable of, product knowledge with a quality leather book bag filled to the brim with professional products & tools, hands on knowledge on how to manage their own hair in a healthy manner and confidence building through the use of polishing and fine tuning their outward appearance!
