Ligonier Valley Library "A reader lives a thousand lives... ." Sign up for a library card today!

Located on the picturesque Ligonier diamond area, the Ligonier Valley Library contains an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks, music CDs and DVDs. As part of the Westmoreland Library Network, we are also able to provide patrons with access to online audiobooks and eBooks which can be downloaded 24/7. In addition to our regular collection, the Pennsylvania Room contains books on various aspects of Pennsylvania, Westmoreland and Ligonier history and also holds historic exhibits such as the annual Historic Photography Show. We are also able to provide the use of computers as well as free WiFi to patrons and visitors. Need a quiet place to study or to hold a meeting, ask about our community room and meeting room.

BIG PUMPKIN PATCH THANK YOU!

We are sending a massive shout-out and a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful friends at the Ligonier Agway! Thanks to their incredible generosity, the Ligonier Valley Library will have a fully stocked "Pumpkin Patch" for our upcoming Family Fall Festival! Because of them, every child who attends will get to pick out their perfect pumpkin completely free of charge. 🧡

Please join us Saturday, October 17 from 11:00-12:00 for seasonal games, delicious snacks, creative crafts, and an indoor pumpkin patch!

Community partnerships like this make our library events so special. Next time you are out running errands, please stop by the Ligonier Agway, pick up your fall supplies, and tell their amazing team THANK YOU for supporting our local families!

Friendly reminder: The library will be closing tomorrow (Thursday 10/8) at 3:00 PM!

We will remain closed through the weekend for Fort Ligonier Days and will also be closed on Monday for our scheduled staff in-service day. We can't wait to see you when we reopen on Tuesday (10/13) at 10:00 AM!

Don't forget—even when our doors are closed, our digital library is always open! You can still download eBooks and audiobooks using the Libby app.

Swipe through the photos to see our new fall-themed mural take shape at the library!

This special project was designed and painted with the help of artists Sam and Liz, who worked alongside our Teen Advisory Board and Teen Art Club to create and bring the mural to life.

We’re so grateful to everyone who picked up a paintbrush, shared an idea, or helped make this project happen. Thank you, Sam, Liz, our library teens, and everyone who contributed!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Home School Hub at Ligonier Valley Library. We loved learning, exploring, and connecting with our local homeschool community!

And a special shout-out to Austin Long from WJAC-TV for stopping by! His visit was featured on the evening news, helping us share what Home School Hub is all about.

Discover Lafayette at the Ligonier Valley Library!

Step into the extraordinary life of Marquis de Lafayette, the French volunteer who became a trusted officer of George Washington and a key figure in the American Revolution.

Our six-banner traveling exhibit, presented by the American Friends of Lafayette, explores his military service, friendship with Washington, commitment to human rights, and celebrated return to America as the nation’s “Guest of the Nation.”

On display in the PA Room Hallway through November 17!

And don’t miss this local connection: use your library card to borrow passes to Fort Ligonier and see the pistols Lafayette gave to George Washington during the Revolution.

Looking for something fun to do next Saturday? Bring the family to the Ligonier Valley Library for a morning of adventure!

On Saturday, September 26th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we are hosting a special Saturday story time. We will be reading Maurice Sendak’s beloved classic "Where the Wild Things Are" and enjoying some monster crafts and games along the way.

This wild adventure is recommended for children ages 5–10, but younger siblings are always welcome to join the fun. There is absolutely no registration required—just put on your wolf suit and march on over for a morning of imagination!

Thank you to all of our wonderful community artists!

As we move into a new season, our community flower display has been removed from the Smart Room windows. These colorful flowers decorated our space all summer, and we want to say a huge thank you to every artist who designed a flower and shared their creativity with us!

This community art project was inspired by the Vine of Knowledge sculpture by Virgil and Lucille Cantini, which stands as a beautiful memorial to Jennie King Mellon. Your artwork brought so much life and vibrancy to the library over the last few months. Swipe through to see some of the wonderful examples from our summer display!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent wildlife adventures!

From getting up close with fascinating lizards and snakes with Oscar's Reptile Encounters () last month to meeting incredible live bird ambassadors during Nature's Educators () last night, we had an absolute blast learning all about the wild world around us.

These wonderful, educational experiences were made possible through the generous support of the Louise Irwin Woods Fund. We are incredibly grateful for their continued investment in bringing engaging, free programming to our library families.
