With my switch to using EBLI Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction for my tutoring, I want to share some information on the basic concepts that EBLI is based upon. Here is a video from EBLI on their first Concept, that 1, 2, 3, or 4 letters can spell 1 sound (because we word from sounds and match the sound to spelling with EBLI).

We have a Red Shed Shout Out for Aaron! We switched to EBLI Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction in January and his reading fluency has had a HUGE jump! He went from 98 correct words per minute in January to 145 correct words per minute last week! We are only 40% way through with the EBLI activities, I can't wait to see what his results are at the end! Way to Go Aaron!

I'm "Proud as a peacock" of Theo! This kid is such a hard worker and it is paying off! His reading fluency went from about 60 words per minute to 100 & 101 last week and this week! All of that hard work is paying off! I'm so glad we switched to EBLI Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction!

More great new stuff coming from EBLI! I was on a zoom training last night with the creator of the program and she shared this great blog post. Sometimes when we learn new things, we need to make room in our brain for it. This blog is all about clearing up some of those pathways in our brain.

There is SO much information in the EBLI program! I'm learning so much I feel like my brain is falling out of my head! I learned the EBLI also has a mini-class on boosting ACT reading scores (all areas actually)! I will be offering that as an option as well!

EBLI changes HOW we teach reading. It is different from most other programs because it first starts with the sounds and then pairs those sounds with the letters that represent it. It helps "unlock the code" of English. This video is a little long (just over 5 minutes) but it is totally worth the time to watch if you're interested in why I'm changing and how EBLI works.
