Adler Arts Center A home for the arts in Libertyville. The Adler Arts Center at 1700 North Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, Illinois was the residence of architect David Adler.

He lived there in the 1864 farmhouse from 1918 until his death on September 27, 1949. Today, the historic property, nominated to the National Register of Historic Places on November 22, 1999, includes the home and 11 acres. Under the guidance of William McCormick Blair, President Emeritus of the Art Institute of Chicago and long-time neighbor and friend of Adler, The David Adler Music and Arts Center was founded in 1980. We are a home for the arts here in Libertyville, and the surrounding areas of Lake County.

🎶 Adler Choir Collective Update! 🎶

The construction crew just let us know that, due to the rain, their schedule has shifted and they will now be actively working at the Adler Center tomorrow. We’ve made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s first Choir Collective meeting.

Instead, we’ll officially kick things off on Saturday, November 7 at 2pm with a meet and greet and our first full rehearsal!

We’re sorry for the last minute change and disappointed to wait a little longer, but we want our first gathering to be a great one. We can’t wait to sing with you in November!

A new season is here, and so is a new FREE program at the Adler Center! 🎶

The Adler Choir Collective has its very first meeting tomorrow at 2pm, and we can’t wait to meet everyone, warm up our voices, and kick off this new community choir together!

Interested in joining us? Register under the group music tab on our website so we can save you a spot and have a binder ready for you!

A quick heads up: there is construction happening around the building, so please give yourself a few extra minutes to arrive and follow posted signage.

Join artist Laura Castaños for a hands-on Paper Marbling Workshop on Saturday, October 10th! Learn the process of creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind marbled papers using pigments, water, and traditional marbling tools.

Saturday, October 10, 10 am–12 pm, $40/person

All materials are included, and you’ll leave with several sheets of your own hand-marbled paper! No experience necessary.

Introducing: Women of Libertyville, In Their Own Words.

Every community is shaped by people whose stories don’t always make it into the history books.

This fall, the Adler Arts Center invites you to experience 'Women of Libertyville', an original storytelling exhibition in collaboration with Karrie McDermott of .llc2024 celebrating the lives of local senior women whose experiences, relationships, work, memories, and contributions have helped shape the community we know today.

Through their own voices, photographs, personal objects, and stories, the exhibition explores Libertyville not simply as a place, but as a community lived and shaped across generations.

Join us for the Opening Reception on Friday, October 9 from 6–8 pm at the Adler Arts Center.

On view October 9 through November 7.

Come listen. Come look. Come discover a piece of Libertyville through the women who lived it.

Construction update! There’s a lot happening at Adler right now! As roof replacement and construction continue, the main courtyard parking area is temporarily CLOSED.

The back portion of our parking lot remains open. When visiting, please follow the route shown on the map and use the main office side entrance. Please do not enter through the south hallway or courtyard construction area. Thank you for your patience!

There’s some construction happening at the Adler Center! If you’re headed to classes or lessons, please use a little extra caution when arriving and walking around the building.

We’re still open and programming is running as scheduled. Please follow posted signs and avoid any active construction areas.
