Chicago Vaulting Team Routine last weekend at Legacy Stables and Karin's Horse Connection annual Legacy Fest competition. Great job everyone!

BIG SHOUT OUT to our dedicated, patient, and enduring chestnut vaulting horse Adorado!
Last year, we took our Andalusian Adorado to Legacy Fest Legacy Stables and Karin's Horse Connection as his first-ever competition. He was still quite green, nervous, and unable to perform in trot or canter, or to be mounted.
This year he carried his vaulters with confidence in multiple classes: his team of four in the walk, in D squad compulsories and freestyle; our team captain in a 1* trot class; and canter in greenhorse and Michigan Gold class, and he got better every day, including being mounted in trot and canter.

An Andalusian might not be your typical vaulting horse, but he showed everyone "yes you can". Compared to the many other horses there, he might have been "the little horse", however, for sure, the one with the biggest heart and giving his all. He overcame many challenges, including setbacks due to limited training time available and only a few experienced vaulters around to help train him. Still, he grew so much in just one year, and we're very excited to see him continue to grow!

Thank you to everyone, like for showing up every week, Karin Schmidt David N Erin Thomas (Sam) for their time, long drives, and dedication to come and visit us and help train our beautiful chestnut "Dodo".

We had an incredible competition weekend at the annual Legacy Fest Legacy Stables and Karin's Horse Connection. Thank you for having us and for guiding us in navigating how to attend a competition as a recreational team. We're taking home lots of inspiration and ideas for new moves, and it was fun to be around so many other vaulting teams while we're the only one in Illinois.

Congratulations to our squad team and team captain for all the hard work you put into this, and for now seeing it flourish. From first saying, "I can't do this move," and not being ready to jump off the horse in the walk, to performing a beautiful, complex team routine and seeing each member push themselves further than they thought they could.
Besides our team captain, all our vaulters have been vaulting less than one year, some even just since January of this year. It's been wonderful to see each of you grow and reach your goals!

We're very proud of our team, and the work and dedication you put into this performance.

Now we're looking forward to our summer training and the upcoming fun show and demo performance at the McHenry County Fair on August 8th!

We had a great spontaneous clinic weekend with Karin Schmidt! Thank you for your support and driving all the way from Michigan. 🙏
We worked indoors on the barrel at the park district and on the horse at the barn. We very happy being able to train by cozy 50 degree in our heated indoor arena while it was -5 outside 🥶.
Very excited to kick off the 2026 vaulting season. Lots of great demonstrations, parades and shows ahead for the Chicago Vaulting team. 😍
