And this folks is why it is so important to do the pre-takeoff brief!

1) If we have a problem or are not off the runway by We will pull the power and stop.

2) if we are off the runway with runway ahead - NOSE DOWN FOR SPEED, power idle and land straight ahead.

3) If we are over the fence - nose down for speed, land ahead (if you have done your homework you should specify exactly which area)

4) Above altitude X I can make a 180 deg turn (if applicable, some AC can and some can’t)

A power failure on takeoff is no joke. You have no time to think about what’s next. Only time to react. The brief, which is done right before calling for takeoff, reduces emergencies to an “If this, Then that”.
