Located at Liberty High School, the LibertyLIFE program provides opportunities and support for our students with special needs.

At LibertyLIFE, our students are Learning Independence and Functional life skills Everyday!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Through Employment for LIFE, our students are getting hands-on, supervised work experiences in school. We get to see our students thrive and develop their professionalism and job skills by supporting our cafeteria and custodial staff!

The LibertyLIFE program is designed to support postsecondary independence for our students intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through Employment for LIFE, our students gain exposure to workplace environments and experiences, and are able to apply skills learned in the classroom.

We are so proud of all of our Employment for LIFE participants, and very grateful for the staff and faculty who create work opportunities for our students! Happy NDEAM! 🧩🦽💙

Yet another AMAZING morning spent with SDPC’s Mobile Learning Lab! Our students used VR headsets to explore haunted houses, pumpkin patches, hayrides, and more. They also loved getting to use Ozobots and Indis again to explore coding!

Thank you once again to Lindsey Douglas for bringing a wonderful hands on learning experience to the LIFE program! We are already counting down the days until the Learning Lab’s next visit 🚐🍎💻🎃

Our students had a great day of work today through Employment for LIFE! Our supervised work-based learning program kicked off its first day today in the cafeteria. Landon helped wash and count apples, Bre folded towels and sorted snack boxes, and Wesley helped pick grapes!

We are looking forward to continuing our expansion of Employment for LIFE. If you’re interested in providing work based learning opportunities for the LIFE students, please reach out to our LIFE program instructors!

Thinking back to last Friday’s pep rally when our LIFE students showed their school spirit! Our students love to support the Red Devils any chance they get. We are looking forward to doing it all again this Friday before Liberty Red Devils Football takes on Pickens High! 🏈 ❤️

Our students loved getting to read Green Eggs and Ham together this afternoon. They even got to check out their very own books! Thank you to Mrs Turner for making this possible!

Our final Senior Spotlight is on Landon McCarson!

Landon is a kindhearted student with some impressive dance moves! He enjoys having fun at school studying and learning about different holidays. Landon loves to learn about science and participating in science projects.
Landon’s favorite memory from his time at Liberty is doing art projects with his classmates!

After graduation, Landon hopes to pursue a job working at the YMCA with his Dad!

Congratulations, Landon! You will be missed! Never forget that you will always be a part of the LIFE family! ❤️

Our next Senior Spotlight is on Nadalie Hayes!

Nadalie is a sweetheart who will dazzle you with her incredible fashion sense and beautiful singing voice! Nadalie’s favorite thing about school is getting to hang out with all of her friends. Her favorite subject to learn about in school is science. Nadalie’s favorite memory of school is getting to be a cheerleader during a Pep Rally earlier this school year!

After graduation, Nadalie plans to travel all over with her family and work with her Mom!

Our next Senior Spotlight is on Haley Marchbanks!

Haley is a kind, hardworking student who especially enjoys listening to and looking at all kinds of books. Her favorite memory from her time in the LIFE program is getting to play with her best friend, Isaac. Haley is someone that you can always count on for a fist bump!

Upon graduation, Haley will be participating in the DDSN day program where her independence will be supported through structured activities!

Congratulations, Haley! We are so proud of you and all you have accomplished. Your LIFE family will miss you!❤️

Our next Senior Spotlight is on Matthew! Matthew has a huge heart and enjoys being a helping hand. He especially loves to dust the library! Matthew’s favorite subject is geography, and his favorite memory from high school is of going on the LIFE program fishing trip to the Vulcan Quarry!

After graduation, Matthew plans to live at home with his family and continue pursuing his career as a professional duster!
