Mr. Hickert’s absence at Heritage Middle School will be deeply felt by students, staff, and the entire LPS community.
Mr. Hickert, the phenomenal 7th grade ELA teacher at Heritage Middle School, has left an indelible mark on countless students. His vibrant personality, unwavering encouragement, and genuine care for his students made him a beloved figure in the school community. Whether it was through his engaging lessons, witty anecdotes, or creative teaching methods, Mr. Hickert fostered an environment where learning was not just about textbooks and exams, but about personal growth and camaraderie. His infectious enthusiasm, warm smile, and never ending dedication to education created an irreplaceable presence. Whether it was his engaging classroom discussions, the way he encouraged students to express their thoughts, or the countless times he went above and beyond to support struggling learners, Mr. Hickert embodied the spirit of teaching.
One of Mr. Hickert’s most remarkable contributions was The Soar Experience , a program he designed to help kids work together and feel like they truly belonged. Through collaborative projects, team-building activities, and a strong emphasis on empathy, Mr. Hickert empowered his students to soar beyond the classroom walls. His legacy lives on in the laughter echoing through the hallways, the friendships forged during group projects, and the countless success stories of former students who credit him with shaping their lives. Mr. Hickert’s passing leaves a void, but his impact will continue to inspire generations of learners. When the 2024-2025 school year begins, the empty chair in his classroom will serve as a poignant reminder of the impact he had on our lives. We will miss his witty jokes, his ability to turn a mundane lesson into an exciting adventure, and the genuine care he showed for each student.
Mr. Hickert’s legacy will continue to inspire us, and though he is no longer physically with us, his spirit will forever echo through the hallways of Heritage Middle School.

We had our Great Grant Giveaway this week! Dr. Allegri was over the moon to be able to award all 15 of our spectacular teachers with their grants they requested! We were able to fund over $4,000 in grants that will directly help our teachers and their students in the upcoming school year! 💛🦅💙
