TLC for Young Children

TLC for Young Children TLC is a full-day, fun-filled, nature based learning experience for 1.5 to 5 year olds We are committed to providing safety and security for all children.

TLC provides a clean, safe, healthy environment where every child can develop emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially. TLC encourages learning and growth through play in an environment designed to strengthen your child’s muscles, build coordination, stretch his/her imagination, and to learn in a way that is fun and enjoyable. We believe that children should be allowed to grow at thei

r own pace and to learn in ways that help them become confident in themselves as learners. Our goal is to provide all of the children with a clean, safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment. Respect toward self, others and the environment will be emphasized. We believe in the value of both structured and unstructured activities. Structured activities will include the use of a preschool curriculum, regular reading times, circle times, arts and crafts, gross motor activities and musical activities. Outdoor play and center times are some of the more flexible and unstructured activities which we offer. It is our goal to create an environment and program which enhances the child’s natural desire to learn through meaningful, appropriate, and playful activities. TLC is a full day program available Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. We follow the local school calendar and are closed for school holidays and summer break. In order to reap the full benefits of the program, 4 year old students are hopefully able to attend Monday thru Friday from at least 9am to 3pm. This program was designed to prepare students for Kindergarten, whether it be the following year or two years ahead.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of TLC for Young Children.

After 14 years of serving this community and nurturing your children, we have reached a point where we can no longer operate in our current facility. Since the chimney fire on November 19th, we have fought to get our building repaired and made safe for our students and staff. Unfortunately, despite repeated promises, the necessary repairs to the heating system and smoke-remediation have not begun.

Our first priority has always been, and will always be, the safety of the children in our care. Because the building’s owner has not met the safety and infrastructure standards required for a quality childcare environment, we have made the difficult choice to close. We refuse to compromise our integrity or your child’s well-being.

We are devastated to see this chapter end this way, but we are so proud of the 14 years of love, growth, and nature-based learning we shared with you.

We thank the community for trusting us with your most precious gifts for over a decade.

With love and gratitude,
The TLC Family 🌿

To us, it looks like a tower of wooden blocks... but really it's a brain-building opportunity.

Every time a child imagines, builds, or negotiates a game, their brain is forming millions of new connections.

We’re not just having fun; we’re building the thinkers of tomorrow! 🧠✨

Step by step! 🐾 Coordination takes practice, and every time a child successfully navigates a balance beam, their self-confidence grows an inch taller. It’s about learning to trust their own feet and find their center.

Every giggle, every shared discovery, and every hand held tight in friendship is a powerful lesson in early education.

We believe in nurturing curious minds and kind hearts through the magic of play.

Sensory play is so much more than just 'getting messy.'

When children scoop, pour, and sift, they are actually strengthening their fine motor muscles, improving hand-eye coordination, and practicing early math concepts like volume and capacity. It’s a full-body workout for the brain! 🧠

In early childhood, play is often mistaken for leisure. But for a child, play is their 'work.'

Every giggle, every concentrated frown, and every 'look what I made!' is a milestone in development.
