I have some personal news to share with all of you. After 16 4-H fairs (with a break in the middle), I will be stepping down from my role as the Union County 4-H Educator.
This is so bittersweet for me. I have loved being the Union County 4-H Educator watching our youth grow, celebrating their successes, and most importantly, building relationships and true friendships with so many wonderful people along the way. This role has given me so many memories that I will treasure.
I have been given the opportunity to serve as Regional Community Development Educator. I am excited to bring new programs and opportunities to our community and to others across the state! Since returning to Extension in 2019, I have wished for Community Development programs to be more readily available to Union County, so I am especially excited about this opportunity which Extension’s transformation brings to our community. I will still be housed in Union County, which means I’ll still be here when you pop in for a visit!
I want you to know that the Union County 4-H program is incredibly important to me and my family. My boys are third-generation Union County 4-H’ers, and they will each have ten years of 4-H in Union County. My hope is that, one day, they will become fourth-generation Union County 4-H volunteers.
Another 4-H professional will step into my position covering the 4-H role. I will remain the 4-H point person until a new hire is found. Once a new hire is found, I will help with the transition and make it as smooth as possible. We anticipate being fully transitioned by January 2027, and I will remain right here in Union County once that transition is complete.
Thank you for the memories, the support, the friendships, and for allowing me to be part of so many 4-H journeys over the years. It has truly been an honor. ❤️
