The goal of the statewide expansion for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is to inspire a love of reading by gifting books to all children from birth to age 5 in every zip code in Kentucky, regardless of income. 51% of children under age 5 in Kentucky are currently enrolled. 🎬 Summer Reading: Bookmobile Park Pop-Up

The Bookmobile is on the road for Summer Reading!

Come to Gateway Park to visit the Bookmobile, check out some books, and best of all: do some dinosaur themed activities!
Activities are geared towards Summer Reading participants around ages 5-12, but all are welcome. Gateway Park is located at 22 Middleburg Street, Liberty, KY.

KEIS, also known as First Steps, is a statewide program that provides interventional services to families with children with developmental disabilities from birth to age 3. The Kentucky Early Intervention is the Commonwealth's implementation of the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The program offers comprehensive services through a variety of community agencies and developmental service specialties. KEIS is available in every Kentucky county. Participation is voluntary. Anyone can refer a child to KEIS, and referrals are sent to a trained team at regional point of entry offices. Casey County residents may contact the Lake Cumberland Point of Entry at 606-678-2821 or 1-800-378-2821.

The Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program is a voluntary home visitation program for any new or expectant parent. HANDS supports families as they build healthy, safe environments for the optimal growth and development of children. HANDS supports you throughout your pregnancy and up to your child's third birthday. New or expectant parents residing in Kentucky are eligible. Families must be enrolled during pregnancy or before the baby is 90 days old. Referrals can be made by the doctor's office, local health department, your church, friends, or family.

🎣 FREE Fishing Weekend is June 6–7 across Kentucky! ☀️

This statewide event means no fishing license is required for anyone fishing Kentucky waterways during these dates—making it the perfect opportunity to introduce kids and beginners to fishing.

Kentucky State Parks are a great place to make a weekend of it, with easy access to lakes, family-friendly settings, and plenty of outdoor adventure.

Great news for Kentucky families — Summer 2026 SEBT is here!

Eligible students can receive a one-time $120 benefit to help purchase nutritious food this summer.

Students ages 6–17 (as of Aug. 1, 2025) who have received SNAP, KTAP, or Kinship Care benefits since July 1, 2025, are automatically approved — no application needed. Benefits will be added directly to your EBT card.

If your student is not automatically eligible, families can apply by Aug. 15, 2026, at at KYSEBT.ky.gov or https://www.chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dcbs/dfs/pages/sebt.aspx
