You'll find me a gifted and effective teacher with children, but I have been blessed with many adults as I help them achieve their musical goals, whether it's playing for enjoyment alone, or preparing to become part of a musical team at church or school. Since I have experience playing and singing professionally at dining establishments and other public venues, and I think it's important to teach my students to sing as they play. At School of Piano and Guitar lessons can include: music theory, ear training, playing by ear, singing along, technique, improvisation, songs of your choice, plus different styles of music such as praise and worship, blues, country, pop and classical. Music lessons are part of a well-rounded education. They have been proven to significantly improve a child's academic understanding, especially in math and science. Our lesson time is a happy and fun way for students to practice concentration, mental organization and focusing. Playing piano or guitar gives children a skill that they can be proud of and continue for the rest of their lives. It increases their feelings of accomplishment and self-worth. Music reaches deep inside and helps us express emotions, thoughts and dreams. While playing an instrument we forget the cares of the world, and troubles don't seem quite so bad. Everyone learns best in a nurturing environment, so I create this with patience, fun, incentives and a positive, can-do atmosphere. My goal is to instruct students according to their individual learning styles. We work magic in our studio to improve skills and encourage a love of music that enriches the students and their families now and for a lifetime. Part of our lesson time may be playing on my digital piano, in addition to my traditional piano. Recitals are performed twice a year at a small local church, and the kids are always excited and motivated by performing.
