Concordia University Irvine tournament recap:
🌇☀️🌴🌸🦋

TOURNAMENT ONE:
- GK went 4-1, finishing as octofinalists
- TD went 3-2
- For top speaker awards, Kandace-Rose finished 4th and Owen finished 9th

TOURNAMENT TWO:
- GK finished in 2nd place overall
- TD finished in 4th place overall
- For top speaker awards, Owen finished 2nd, Kandace-Rose finished 3rd, and Trent finished 4th

This was an AMAZING weekend for Jewell debate, and we look forward to doing more great work.

At The Big Tent:

Jewell DT gets 4th place!!! Finishing 3-2!!!

This weekend, Patrick Terry and Kandace Gill participated in the Paul Winters and Pat Kennedy Memorial Tournament at University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. They finished FIRST PLACE in parliamentary debate.

This is the first tournament competing with the help of our new coach, Mason Remaley. (bio coming soon 👀👀)

Additionally, Trent Dixon travelled with the team to help in the prep room, despite his concussion. Pat and Kandace are very grateful for his contribution to their success.

Due to tournament scheduling delays, Jewell was unable to stay until awards. Because of our absence, we will not find out if Pat or Kandace got any speaker awards until the awards come in the mail. We will update you if we got a speaker award!

MEET OUR NEW MEMBER!!!

Garrett Washington is a Theatre and Digital Media Communications major. When asked why he joined debate, he said that “I see debate as a fun way to engage with people and gain new understanding of world affairs.” He is most excited to get tournament ready! A fun fact about Garrett is that a cat owes him $1,700.

Good morning, friends! Are you all ready for the results from the Mule?!
-William Jewell placed 2nd overall in debate sweepstakes!
-Partners Patrick Terry and Trent Dixon placed FIRST PLACE overall!
-Avalon Autrey and Jack Trent placed top 4 as a first-time partnership!
-Patrick Terry received the top speaker overall award!
-Avalon Autrey placed 4th speaker!
-Trent Dixon placed 8th speaker!
-and... WE GOT REPOSTED BY ON INSTAGRAM STORIES!
This tournament was a great success and we are loving the season so far!

After an amazing fall break, it is about time we post some pictures and stats about our time in Portland!
-Kandace Gill and Paige Elliott went 3-2 and broke into the quarter-finals where they placed in the top six!
-Trent Dixon and Patrick Terry went 2-3 and faced some really difficult teams that also broke at Rice. We are extremely proud of them!
-Trent Dixon got the 7th best speaker overall in the tournament!
-We got to know of few of Portland's fine dining places, including some pretty amazing ramen and ice cream.
-... we also discovered that Adam is right most of the time.

We may be suffering from jet lag because we landed in Portland today... but that won't stop us from posting! Meet Ian!
