🏈 Football Meets Martial Arts: A Taihenjutsu Success Story 🥋

Earlier this week, Michelle (parent of our past student) sent us this footage of her son using the front roll he learned in our Taihenjutsu training right on the football field. As she put it:

"Never thought I would see M do his forward roll on the football field. Looks like it came in handy." — Michelle

What is Taihenjutsu?

It's the critical art of saving yourself from falls, trips, and throws. Our foundational ground rolling and falling techniques give students skills that translate directly to real life—AND other sports.

In our classes, students learn:
- How to roll and fall safely
- Techniques to recover gracefully from throws and take-downs
- Body control that prevents injury when accidents happen

Why This Matters

Every child will experience falls, slips, and tumbles—at school, on the playground, or during sports. The difference between a minor stumble and a serious injury often comes down to one thing: knowing how to land properly.

Taihenjutsu teaches that skill. And as this video shows, those lessons can pay off in unexpected ways, like a perfectly executed recovery during practice or a game.

What is Kenjutsu? Kukishin-ryū Biken-jutsu is a traditional Japanese swordsmanship art dating back to the 14th century. Rooted in battlefield combat and armored warfare, this system teaches discipline, precision, and genuine martial techniques passed through an unbroken instructor lineage.

Your Training Lineage: Shoto Tanemura ➔ Chadwick Minge ➔ Brian Simmons

Students learn the same historical techniques preserved for centuries—no modifications, no shortcuts.
