Welcome
Surgical technologists are allied health professionals who are specifically trained to function as an integral member of the surgical team, performing specialized duties before, during and after a surgical procedure. Students complete the didactic portion via their computer with the final exams being proctored at a pre-approved site in their area or at SCCC campus. Lab days are Monday and
Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. All final exams within the Surgical Technology Online Program will be proctored at SCCC Surgical Technology Building with Surgical Technology Instructor. Students are required to travel to clinical affiliate sties during spring and summer semester. Applications for the program are accepted each year beginning December 1. Interviews will be conducted after completion of the application process. Applications are accepted until positions are filled. At the SCCC Surgical Technology Building, students have access to a surgical technology skills laboratory to develop the necessary competencies needed to provide patient care. Our building has its own computer lab for students to use including internet access also.
