⭐ USD 480 Principal Spotlight ⭐
Mrs. Darla Forney - Liberal High School

When Mrs. Forney first entered education, she thought she would get to spend summers with her kids. Twenty-five years later, her career has grown into a lifelong commitment to helping students succeed.

After spending much of her teaching career in biology, Mrs. Forney transitioned into administration and is now in her 17th year as an administrator and second year as principal of Liberal High School. Her dedication to students and staff is evident in the work she does every day. Leading a high school takes patience, sacrifice, and a whole lot of heart, and Darla brings those qualities to LHS every day. Outside of school, her favorite movie is Dances with Wolves, and her favorite song is “Remember When” by Alan Jackson.

During Principals Month, USD 480 celebrates Mrs. Forney and the countless ways she makes a difference in the school community. Thank you, Mrs. Forney, for 25 years of service and dedication to education and for all you do for our Redskins!
