💛📚 Learning together in Liberal USD 480!

The CIMA Center is partnering with educators at Prairie View Elementary to explore the journey from objectives to biliteracy—bringing together the Pillars of Dual Language and Biography-Driven Instruction (BDI).

Our focus: strong planning begins with two essential anchors—the standards of the state and the context and biography of the learner. When we understand what students are expected to learn and what they already bring linguistically, culturally, cognitively, and academically, we can intentionally build bridges toward biliteracy.

Standards give us the destination. Learner biography helps us design the journey.

Your hard work often happens behind the scenes, but it makes a BIG difference every day. From keeping our classrooms and hallways clean to making sure our school is ready for our Pioneers each morning, we are so thankful for you! ❤️

🐾 PVE WATCH D.O.G.S. Shout-Out! 🐾

Prairie View Elementary would like to give a BIG shout-out to these amazing dads for taking time out of their busy schedules to serve as WATCH D.O.G.S. at our school! From helping serve at lunch, playing on the playground, reading in classrooms, and walking the halls, our WATCH D.O.G.S. are making a difference throughout our school!

We truly appreciate your willingness to volunteer, support our students, and be actively involved in our school community. Your presence provides positive role models for our students and helps make PVE a great place to learn and grow!

🚒🔥 First Grade Field Trip! 🔥🚒

Today, our 1st grade students had an exciting visit to the fire department! Our students had the opportunity to learn more about fire safety, meet firefighters, and see some of the equipment they use to help keep our community safe. A big thank you to our local firefighters for welcoming our Pioneers and making learning fun and meaningful!

✏️ Learning the art of penmanship!

Mrs. Terrazas’ 2nd grade class at Prairie View Elementary is putting pencil to paper and practicing their handwriting skills. From careful letter formation to neat, readable writing, these young learners are building skills that will last a lifetime!

🌟 September Pioneer of the Month — KINDNESS! 🌟

Today, we celebrated our September Pioneer of the Month recipients as we recognized the character trait of KINDNESS! Congratulations to all of our September Pioneer of the Month recipients! Thank you for being wonderful examples of KINDNESS and for helping make Prairie View Elementary a special place to learn and grow!
A huge congratulations to our Teacher of the Month, Mrs. Rachel Kirks, our School Counselor! 🎉 Mrs. Kirks consistently shows kindness and care to our students and staff, and we are so grateful for the positive relationships she builds throughout our PVE family.

Congratulations to our Paraeducator of the Month, Malexis Pierce! Malexcis demonstrates kindness in everything she does. She builds relationships with all of our students, encourages them, and is always willing to step in wherever she is needed. We are so lucky to have her on our team!
