UK FALL LAMBING SCHOOL
Oct 1 (10 am - 3 pm EDT)

Location: C. Oran Little Research Center Sheep Unit
1171 Midway Road
Versailles, KY 40383

Cost: No registration fee
(limited to 25 people)

• This school is designed for new and prospective sheep producers, but seasoned shepherds are welcome to attend to hone their shepherding skills.

Subject matter covered by University of Kentucky faculty and staff will include:
• Pregnancy management
• Normal and abnormal parturition
• Care of the ewe and her newborns
• Metabolic disorders
• Lactation nutrition
• Other shepherding techniques required to effectively produce lambs and wool.

Please wear pants and close-toed shoes.

Note: For our flock safety, we request that if you have been out of the country in the last 7 days, please do not register.

Livestock & Country Ham Showcase Sale

Location: Bluegrass Stockyards
Dinner: 6:00 PM | Sale: 7:00

Join us for an evening highlighting the hard work of local youth involved in agriculture. The Livestock & Country Ham Showcase supports 4-H and FFA members by featuring their livestock and ham projects for sale.

This is a great opportunity to support youth, invest in local agriculture, and enjoy a community meal.

A donation letter is available for businesses and individuals who would like to help purchase projects or make a contribution.

Attention to all the nature-loving followers: Critter Crawl is happening this Saturday, 8-10:30pm at Raven Run! This is a neat opportunity to learn all about the nocturnal critters that inhabit Lexington! Even though this event doesn't include a nighttime hike, it is encouraged that you bring walking shoes and a flashlight.
