More from the Academic Challenge. So proud of the hard work and long day both primary and intermediate teams spent today competing against 14 other schools. They did an awesome job working together as teams.

We competed in the Regional Principal's Academic Challenge today and really showed up! Our primary team brought home 1st place and our intermediate went to the championship round and came in 3rd. I'm so proud of everyone that was able to compete and all the families for making time to be here. Thank you to our coaches, Ms. Warren, Ms. Cullen, and Ms. Kramer!

Primary team, get ready for the Superintendent's cup on the 27th, we've got another trophy to bring home!

DO NOT FORGET - Saturday March 10th, Dixie is competing against schools throughout the District. It is single elimination and we are asked to register in the cafeteria at 8:30 to 8:40. We are in need of 2 parent volunteers that can sit with a primary team for the 1st round. Please let me know through an email if you are available [email protected]. We look forward to our Dolphins showing off their academic skills.

Hey Dixie Parents,

So based on feedback from the Orchestra Teacher and our parents, we have decided to change Academic Team to Mondays at 7:15 am - 8:00 am, as well as Wednesdays 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Each student will be given a new form that has transportation. On Monday transportation won't be an issue but if I don't have their transportation form they will not be allowed to attend on Wednesday after school. I'm sorry that my communication has been sparse lately. I'm incredibly new to this whole process, as well as expecting my third kiddo. I promise in the next few weeks I will be more diligent with our communication. Have a wonderful weekend.

Dixie Academic Team member Hailee won in the 5th grade writing category! She received a scholarship for $5,000 per year at the University of Kentucky. So very proud of her accomplishments and excited to see what her future holds.

Academic Challenge Regional was yesterday. We are so proud of both Primary and Intermediate students for all of their hardwork. We will not be advancing this year, but are thankful for how our students represented Dixie! :)

District Competition today:
Placed 2nd in Quick Recall and will be advancing!!! Have several students advancing in written assessments and one in composition. So proud of our Dixie team!! :)

Today was Academic Challenge's scrimmage against Picadome. The students did a wonderful job! :)

Two of our hardworking Academic Team members were honored tonight by Fayette County Public Schools and awarded college scholarships. Derek won for his 5th grade Math/Science On-Demand piece and given a $5,000 scholarship per year to the University of Kentucky. Hailee won for her 4th grade Writing On-Demand piece and given 1 year of free tuition to Bluegrass Community & Technical College. Very proud of all their accomplishments and can't wait to see what the future holds!

Don't worry with all this newfangled technology we are able to watch the UK game on the drive back!
