Sayre School celebrates the achievements of the Class of 2026, who have earned an impressive number of Diplomas of Distinction – an accomplishment that reflects their commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and service.
In addition to this milestone, a high percentage of graduates also earned honors and high honors diplomas, underscoring the talents and dedication of this year’s senior class.

Sayre alumna Dr. Dealla Samadi ’15, Resident Physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, was the guest speaker for this year’s Baccalaureate Ceremony.
Dr. Samadi shared “pearls” from her journey in medicine—meaningful experiences, lessons, and reflections—as the Class of 2026 prepares to make their mark beyond Sayre.

Through Sayre’s senior internship program this spring, Eli Powell, 🎓 Class of 2026, interned at Lexington Traditional Magnet School, working directly with Leigh Nahra, assistant principal.
“I have always loved the idea of teaching and also wanted to see admin roles, not just classroom teachers,” says Eli, who will major in education at Auburn University.

This spring, Bennett Grau, 🎓 Class of 2026, interned at TLC Dentistry through Sayre’s senior internship program, observing dental procedures and seeing the in-house dental lab in action.
“I feel like the internship program is the best thing Sayre School does to prepare for college,” says Bennett, an aspiring dentist who will be attending Wofford College this fall.

Lucie Pitman, 🎓 Class of 2026, interned this spring with Hagyard Equine Medical Institute through Sayre’s senior internship program.
“I loved working very closely with Dr. Holder,” she says of her supervising veterinarian, who specializes in horse reproduction. “I learned a great deal about equine medicine from him.”
Lucie will attend Berry College this fall to study animal science.
