See below for a job opportunity in Nashville!
My name is Edward McKinney, and I am one of the lead school psychologists in the Metro-Davidson Nashville (TN) School District. I am emailing you today because we have several open school psychologist positions right now due to retirements. I was wondering if your program had any students who are scheduled to graduate this May. We would love to interview school psychology applicants (particularly those from great SP programsJ) who are interested in working in an urban school district, such as Nashville, TN. I love the emphasis on “social justice” and the “whole child” in your program. We believe our district/department has numerous positive opportunities to offer young school psychology graduates entering the workforce. Some of these highlighted points are as follows:
-Great professional development!!! (Each school year earn 6 or more NASP-approved continuing education credits offered by the district free of charge)
-Professional Learning Communities (staff have formed ‘teach and learn’ PLC’s to strengthen our practices in several areas: EL, MTSS, trauma, crisis response, and more)
-5 Paid professional leave days (this is huge and something most districts do NOT offer…we can request paid PD days to attend conferences or trainings!)
-Mentors! (Every new hire to this district is assigned a mentor and attends new hire training; this would be so helpful for a first year psych…Most people who come to our district from other counties wish they had this as a first year!).
-Competitive pay, plus a $4000 yearly bonus/stipend for maintaining NCSP credentials
-Supportive leads (Despite being a large district, our department feels tightknit and close. We are divided into quadrants, where we work closely with assigned lead psychologists).
-Regular monthly staff meetings to hear new policies, mandates from the State department, and share our concerns.
-Nashville, TN is currently referred to as the “it” city due to its booming economy and many job opportunities for young adults.
I’m sure I’m leaving out more great benefits to working in this district, but have them contact Dr. Bilton ([email protected]) or me ([email protected]) if they have any additional questions! My cell phone is 615-500-9009.

School Psychologist opening!
Coweta County Schools offers an opportunity for school psychologists who want to specialize in consultation and Response to Intervention. Coweta County is located 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Georgia and 30 minutes from the airport and has wonderful shopping, restaurants, and parks.
As a suburb of Atlanta, Coweta County has a progressive school system that offers flexibility that larger systems cannot offer. One thing that sets us apart, is that Psychological Services falls under the regular education umbrella. This is a paradigm shift that recognizes that school psychologists do not just work with special education students, but that they work to maximize the learning and adjustment for all students. School psychologists are school based, yet are surrounded by the support and collaboration of fellow school psychologists in the department. We support each other through regular department meetings; Peer Supervision; Behavior Treatment Teams, and Study Teams.
We are looking for an innovative school psychologist to join our team of thirteen. For more information contact Mrs. Maria Carroll, Lead School Psychologist at
[email protected] or Dr. Lisa Quick at [email protected] .
