🎉 We have some exciting news to share! 🎉

MBCC is thrilled to announce that we have received a $5,000 grant from Lauren's Ladder toward the purchase of our new Frog Street curriculum! 📚💚

Lauren’s Ladder is a nonprofit organization right here in Lexington, created in July 2013 to honor the memory of 11-year-old Lauren Suzanne Cecil. The organization supports local community groups that help children grow in five important areas: educational, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual.

For many years, Lauren’s Ladder has raised funds through its annual golf tournament. Although that tradition will sadly not continue, the organization remains committed to supporting Davidson County through grants and community initiatives.

We are incredibly grateful to Lauren’s Ladder for investing in the children of MBCC and helping us provide quality, research-based learning experiences for our students. 💚

📚 BIG NEWS & A BIG MESS! 😂📦

This fall, MBCC will begin using a NEW curriculum! 🎉

We worked closely with our state consultant to find the curriculum that would be the best fit for our program, and we are excited to announce that we chose Frog Street! 🐸💚

Today, the majority of our materials arrived—with ZERO NOTICE! 😂 We ended up with a mountain of boxes taking over the office!

As soon as we dig our way out, we’ll begin getting everything organized and ready for use in our classrooms. We’re excited about what this new curriculum will bring to our teachers and, most importantly, to our children!

Lots of exciting things are happening at MBCC! We can’t wait to see our little learners grow, learn, and thrive!

Safety Town Day 2 was a blast! 🚓💙

A HUGE thank you to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) for spending time with our Safety Town participants today! This highly trained tactical unit handles high-risk operations, but they also took time to make a lasting impression on our children.

Everyone was especially excited to explore the SERT vehicle! Each child had the opportunity to climb inside, look around, and even have their picture taken. It was an unforgettable experience and another fun, educational day at Safety Town!
