Team spirit on and off the soccer field 🇩🇪⚽🏴

Team spirit was on full display not only on the soccer fields at the World Cup, but also at the Fan Zone in Providence, RI, where Germany was the spotlight country.

Consul Dr. Sonja Kreibich embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly and invited the German Saturday School Boston (GSSB), along with other German organizations, to participate during the match against Curaçao. At the Fan Zone, a giant screen brought Houston to New England. A special shoutout to Team Curaçao for a great goal! We hope to see them again in their bright yellow tricots.
Many thanks to the German Consulate General Boston for including GSSB in the Spotlight Day. We were proud to represent our school and connect with such an engaged, international audience.
Thank you to Providence for hosting, providing a fantastic space, and keeping everyone going with plenty of cold water throughout the day.

Even though it was a bit of a journey coming from Boston, it was well worth it: we met many families who had already heard about GSSB and many more who were excited to learn about our programs and community.

Michael Sassin, Leona Frank, and Stephanie Cradick were happy to introduce the school, share information and hand out German-themed stickers and temporary tattoos, and showcasing what GSSB is all about.

Because in the end, team spirit goes beyond the field: It is about community, culture, and the connections that bring people together.

Mission accomplished—we came, we connected, and yes, we scored our goal. ⚽
