Taking on the heavy lifting: How Davidson-Davie is scaling apprenticeships to meet local workforce needs As an apprenticeship sponsor, Davidson-Davie Community College is lowering employers' barrier to entry and scaling apprenticeship programs.

It is National Apprenticeship Week, and the Davidson Davie Apprenticeship Consortium is celebrating the students, employers, and community partners who make apprenticeships a powerful pathway to success.

Apprenticeships open doors to:

• Hands-on experience in real workplaces
• Paid training that builds confidence and skills
• Debt-free education and industry-recognized credentials
• Direct career opportunities with local employers

This week, we honor the apprentices shaping their futures and the businesses investing in the next generation of talent. Together, we’re building a stronger workforce and a stronger community.

Our open house at Davidson-Davie Community College earlier this week proved to be very informative to a large group of parents and students seeking to learn about the possibility of an apprenticeship. For some, it will turn out to be the first step toward a long and successful career with one of the region's top companies.

Tonight is the night for the Davidson and Davie Apprenticeship Consortium's open house from 5-7 p.m. at the Davidson-Davie Community College Davidson Campus in the Rittling Conference Center.

All DDAC member companies will be there to meet interested students and share information about the apprenticeship program and their companies. There will be two presentations about the program at 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
