Wells Men — Thank You!​

A BIG thank you to all the men who came out for our very first Wells Men gathering! We had one of our best turnouts, and we’re excited about where this can go.

There’s something powerful about men coming together with a shared commitment to our children and our community. The conversations we have, the relationships we build, and the example we set can leave an impact that lasts far beyond one morning.

And we’re just getting started! 👀

✨ WOMEN AT THE WELL | WHAT A MORNING! ✨

On Thursday, many of our phenomenal WWB women gathered for the inaugural Women at the Well—a beautiful space created to connect, grow, and be inspired. 💜💛

With the incredible Judge Melissa Murphy as our guest speaker, our women shared, laughed, cried, encouraged one another, and reminded each other of the power that comes when women intentionally pour into women.

And THAT is what Women at the Well is about. 💜

We believe our scholars need to see women who support one another, celebrate one another, tell the truth, lift each other up, and create space for growth. It was more than a breakfast—it was the beginning of a community.

A special thank you to Judge Melissa Murphy for pouring into our WWB women and helping us launch something truly special. And thank you to every mom, aunt, grandmother, sister, staff member, and woman in our WWB family who showed up and poured into the well. 💛

We came for inspiration.
We connected.
We grew.
And we left refreshed.

Because when women come together, GREAT THINGS HAPPEN! 💜💛

💜💛 COMMUNITY SHOWING UP FOR OUR COLTS! 💛💜

We are incredibly grateful for the community partners and friends who continue to pour into William Wells Brown and make sure our Colts have what they need to start the school year ready to learn! 🎒✏️📚

A HUGE thank you to:

🎒 Jif and The J.M. Smucker Co. employees here in Lexington for their generous donation of backpacks filled with supplies for our students.

✏️ Our community donors who helped stock our classrooms with much-needed school supplies. Every pencil, notebook, marker, and classroom essential makes a difference!

🎒CommonSpirit Health Creating Safer Neighborhoods Initiative for donating the backpacks to carry all of their wonderful supplies.

🙏🏾 Dr. Felix Williams, Pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Mario J. Radford of Growth Point, and Crossroads Church Ministry for pouring into our WWB staff with coffee, donuts, encouragement, and prayer as we began the new school year.

These donations are so much more than supplies. They are a reminder to our students and staff that we have a community standing behind us, cheering us on, and investing in our success.

It truly takes a village, and we are thankful that ours continues to show up BIG for William Wells Brown! 💜🐎💛

While you’re getting ready for Day 1, WWB is already TWO WEEKS IN and WOW… what an AMAZING start it has been! 🙌🏽✨
