Preventing tick bites is the best way to protect against Lyme disease. Use EPA-registered insect repellents when you're outside and reapply according to the label. A layered approach including long-sleeved clothing and tick checks can also help.

Lyme disease is the most commonly reported tick-borne disease in the United States. Employers can help protect their workers from Lyme disease. Provide them with training that includes information about Lyme disease and how it spreads, recommend they wear light-colored clothing, and provide workers with repellants.
