📍 Meet the J. Douglas Gay Jr. and Frances Carrick Thomas Library
Age: A lady never tells. But let's just say President Eisenhower attended my debut party.
Hometown: Lexington, Kentucky
Occupation: Matchmaker for curious minds and big ideas
About Me: I've spent decades introducing students to new passions, unexpected perspectives, and books they weren't looking for but somehow needed. My closest friends include rare medical books from the 1700s, handwritten theses from Transy medical students, original Audubon artwork and one of the most fascinating collections of Kentucky stories you'll ever find. I've watched students wander in looking for a source for tomorrow's paper and wander out with a new interest, a new question or occasionally a new major.
My philosophy? Stay curious. Follow the rabbit trail. Don't be afraid to change your mind.
After all, some of the best discoveries start when you're supposed to be looking for something else.

📍 Meet Old Morrison
Age: Prefer not to say. Let's just say I've been around since Andrew Jackson was president.
Hometown: Lexington, Kentucky
Occupation: Professional witness to student stories
About Me:
I've spent my years watching first-year students become graduates, strangers become lifelong friends and curiosity become purpose. I've learned that most people don't arrive with all the answers.
The good ones keep asking questions anyway. Learn more at Transy.edu

Still reflecting on the moments leading up to Commencement weekend ✨
Senior Toast and Senior Awards gave our graduating seniors the chance to pause and celebrate everything they accomplished during their time at Transy — the friendships, leadership, academic achievements and memories that shaped their journey.
Before crossing the stage last Saturday, they spent the week surrounded by classmates, mentors and a community that helped them grow into who they are today.
Congratulations again to the Class of 2026. We’re so proud of you and excited for what comes next.

There’s something special about visiting campus in the summer.
Maybe it’s the quiet beauty of the historic architecture, the welcoming community, or the feeling that students truly belong here.
Ranked among the most beautiful college campuses in the nation, Transylvania University offers more than stunning scenery — it offers personal mentorship, meaningful opportunities, and a close-knit environment where students are known and supported.
If your student is beginning the college search process, summer is the perfect time to experience Transy in person.
Plan your visit today and see what makes this place feel like home. https://apply.transy.edu/portal/visit-options

Yesterday, we watched families cheer through tears, hugs linger a little longer and students cross the stage into their next chapter. 🎓🖤
Graduation is more than a ceremony — it’s the culmination of years of support, sacrifice, encouragement and love.
We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and grateful to every family member, friend, mentor and supporter who helped them get here.
No matter where life takes them next, they will always be part of the Transy family.

There’s something special about campus the week and especially the day before commencement. ✨
The excitement. The reflection. Saying goodbye to some of our retiring faculty who made our University a wonderful place. The anticipation of what’s next.
Tomorrow we celebrate our graduates, but today we celebrate the entire Transy community — the students just beginning their journey, the families cheering them on, the alumni who paved the way, and the faculty and staff who help make this place feel like home. ❤️
